The Australian Government has awarded three defence contracts worth $6m to three central Queensland-based companies.

Awarded under the $2.25bn Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI), the contracts aim to reinforce the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Companies awarded for various civil and fencing works are JRT Civil in Yeppoon, Bellequip in Rockhampton, as well as Tunuba in Rockhampton.

The companies are among the 15 firms engaged for design and construction of the Shoalwater Bay Training Area expansion.

ForAllSecure has won a $45m contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for the deployment of its next-generation fuzzing solution, Mayhem, across several branches of the US Department of Defense (DoD).

Mayhem is already used by several DoD organisations including the Naval Sea Systems Command, the Air Force 90th Cyberspace Operations Squadron and the US Army C5ISR Center.

It brings together two dynamic application security testing techniques, guided fuzzing and symbolic execution, and offers continuous security when integrated into software development cycles.

Leidos subsidiary Dynetics has secured a contract under the US Army’s weapon modernisation initiatives to increase the power of its latest directed energy weapon from a 100 kW-class system to a 300kW-class system.

In January, the US Army modified the existing contract to support efforts to increase laser capability as part of the Indirect Fires Protection Capability – High Energy Laser (IFPC-HEL) endeavour.  Dynetics is the prime contractor for IFPC-HEL and is expected to demonstrate a 300 kW-class prototype system in FY22.

The company will lead the final assembly, integration, and testing of the development.

FLIR Systems has secured an additional $20.6m contract from the US Army to deliver its FLIR Black Hornet 3 nano-UAVs to support the army’s Soldier Borne Sensor (SBS) programme.

The drones will support platoon and small unit-level surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

In January last year, the Army initially awarded a $39.7m contract to FLIR for Black Hornet 3 UAVs under the SBS programme. Delivery of these systems is currently underway.

The combat-proven, pocket-sized nano transmit live video and HD still images, providing soldiers with real time battleground situational awareness.

CACI International has secured a five-year task order with a ceiling value of $63m to upgrade US Army infrastructure across the US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM).

CACI will provide continued enterprise support for the relocation of the Army’s garrison at Seoul, South Korea to Camp Humphreys.

As part of the order awarded under the NETCENTS-2 contract vehicle, engineers and technicians at CACI will provide enterprise expertise and technology to the Army’s Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems.

Other work will include engineering, furnishing, installing, securing, and testing upgraded infrastructure at 46 Army sites throughout the region.

Tata Power Strategic Engineering Division, a defence business of the Tata Power Company, has secured a contract for modernisation of 37 airfields for the Indian armed forces.

Under the $159m contract awarded by the Indian Ministry of Defence, the company will be responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of modern airfield equipment such as Cat II instrument landing systems and Cat II airfield lighting systems over the next four years.

The contract includes navigational aids and air traffic management system, as well as development of the required civil and electrical infrastructure.

StandardAero has secured a contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to provide engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to support T-38 trainer jet aircraft.

Under the multi-year $237m contract, the company will provide services for General Electric J85 turbojet engines powering the USAF fleet of T-38 aircraft.

The fleet of T-38 trainer aircraft will be powered at StandardAero’s San Antonio facility located at Port San Antonio. Work under the contract will continue until 2028.

Security solutions and services provider Telos has secured US Air Force contract to support the Theater Deployable Communications (TDC) Black Core Architecture upgrade.

Under the $66.4m contract, the company will deliver modules and kits with inclusive baseline cybersecurity posture for equipment provided in the upgrade.

The TDC offers flexible, lightweight and integrated deployable communications equipment to warfighters.

To support the upgrade of TDC Black Core Architecture, Telos will provide information assurance services to help complete each step of the NIST Risk Management Framework.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has won a training contract to support the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF).

The $16.10m cost-plus fixed fee contract was issued by the Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk Philadelphia Office. The ceiling value of the contract, if all available options are exercised, is roughly $25.62m.

The company will continue to provide its training support services to the RSNF, including military-focused training, technical and instructional services. The services will aid in conducting naval operations, logistics and curriculum management support services.
