Humanitarian Mine Detection with Next‑Generation Technology

For decades, the global fight against landmines has been hindered by slow, labour-intensive methods prone to false alarms. MRead Limited is revolutionising this process with its world-first Magnetic Resonance (MR) sensor technology, developed in collaboration with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

MR-HD: Handheld Detection Device

Unlike conventional metal detectors, MRead’s MR-HD Magnetic Resonance - Handheld device directly detects and identifies explosive compounds at the molecular level, dramatically increasing accuracy thereby reducing false alarms and unnecessary excavations.

Following successful trials in active minefields in Angola, MRead’s technology has demonstrated its ability to detect RDX-based explosives with unrivalled precision. Now, with further development to detect TNT, MRead is set to transform global demining efforts.

GAME-CHANGING TECH

could speed up landmine clearance rates by 30% saving thousands of lives.

SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES FALSE ALARM RATES

by detecting explosives, not metal clutter.

Fully portable & battery-powered,

with intuitive operation.

INTEGRATES SEAMLESSLY

with other sensors & platforms to improve stand-off detection capability.

With its patented MR technology, and supported by The HALO Trust and Minelab, MRead aims for commercial availability and deployment by late 2026, accelerating global demining projects and saving lives in humanitarian and defence applications.
